Senior Engineering Team Leader – ARGAN Albida’a Hotel & Resort

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Team Leader – Engineering to lead the Engineering Department within our luxury 5-star.

Reporting directly to the Cluster Director of Engineering, this position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, safety, and continuous improvement of all hotel facilities and engineering services.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the engineering team, ensuring efficient task allocation and timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Maintain all hotel plant, equipment, guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, laundry, swimming pools, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to the highest operational standards.
• Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted hotel operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of all hotel facilities and identify opportunities for improvement and energy optimization.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, fire life safety, environmental, and local regulatory requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance and supervise maintenance projects, renovations, and installations.
• Assist in preparing maintenance schedules, departmental reports, budgets, and capital expenditure recommendations.
• Control engineering inventory, tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineering team members while promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Security, and other operational departments to ensure guest satisfaction and efficient service delivery.
• Respond promptly to operational emergencies and provide technical support whenever required.
• Participate in the Manager-on-Duty or emergency response roster when assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of engineering experience within luxury hotels, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of hotel building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS, generators, pumps, boilers, chillers, kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Proven experience in preventive maintenance programmes and asset management.
• Good understanding of fire and life safety systems and statutory compliance.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound operational decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Excellent command of English; Arabic is an advantage.
